Our tile is being installed in the hallway by Mike from Strahle Tile + Granite. For the halls we chose a through-body porcelain tile known for it's strength and durability. Porcelain is harder than glazed ceramic tile and we wanted the floors to be easy to maintain and long lasting.
We plan to use SpectraLOCK; a new grout that is more durable and doesn't require the sealing and maintenance of the older grouts. It is an epoxy-based product that isn't porous and doesn't stain, crack, fade or powder out. It's quite a bit more expensive initially than standard grout, but when you consider maintenance over the life of your home, it looks like this new product will be a better value long term.

The master bath has a shower only with TerraGreen recycled glass tile shown here. There is a 2" lip around the shower for a redwood bench that will be raised and lowered as desired. Below the bench are triangle accents, repeated on the ceiling. The bathroom floor is 8x8" TerraGreen tiles, also with triangle accents.

Mike is starting the hall bath next. He's been working hard to get the tiles and especially our precision cuts just right for us. More photos to come as the hall bath gets finished and the tiles get grouted!
