| Finally
we are putting the finishing touches on our new little
home. It's turning from a job site into a new home in
front of our eyes. This is the most exciting part of
the project (I think).
Here, Jon (left) is helping Michel (center) and Gabe
install the upper cabinets.
|
Dominic, Gabe's son, has come to pitch in and help
get the job done. With Dominic's help we should be able
to finish our home on schedule.
Since our kitchen is small and storage space is at
a premium, Michel + Gabe added a foot to the height
of our upper cabinets. This will add a lot of storage
and since the ceiling is high, it fits just fine. |
Another view of the kitchen with center, round island
and maple cutting board top. There is storage underneath
and room for stools all around.
The refrigerator will go in the space on the left and
the stove on the right. Above the stove is a combo microwave,
vent hood.
|
Here's one of our slick little toilets. There are 2 buttons
on top of the tank; one for a half flush, one for a full.
It's still only 1.6 gallons, however.See our materials
list for links to their Web site.

While the plumbers and electricians and cabinetmakers
are busy inside, Evan and I have been out in the front
laying our flagstone walkways. Adding cobble and small
river rock made it easier to fit the flagstone and adds
interest.
